AIPMT-2011-Information-Brochure and list of participating colleges
Currently, 15% of the total seats in all medical and dental colleges run by the Union of India, state governments and municipal authorities in India (except J&K & AP), are reserved for successful AIPMT candidates. AIPMT conducts exam at two levels. First part is preliminary exam normally held on 1st Saturday of the April month (3rd April 2010). The second part is mains conducted in the month of May (16-May-2010).
AIPMT exam pattern has been changed with effect from 2010. Now, the mains are to be made completely objective (MCQ) like the prelims, owing to complaints about the unreliability of the subjective mains. It is expected that more difficult and application-level questions would be asked on the pattern of AIIMS that has assertion-reason questions.
About 1950 MBBS and 260 odd dental seats are available through AIPMT in more than 100 colleges. However anyone getting ranks within 3000 can reasonably hope for selection due to overlap with other state-level exam. NCERT books are the best preparation ground for both the prelims and the mains.
AIPMT Exam Date: AIPMTĀ exam would be held per following schedule in 2 Stages :
Ist stage i.e.Preliminary Examination : 200 multiple-choice questions, of which 100 are from biology. About 10000 candidates qualify from prelims to appear for mains exam.
2nd Stage i.e Final Examination (for those who qualify Prelims): Traditionally, the paper consisted of 20 questions of five marks each. From 2010, AIMPT will have objective type questions for Mains as well. A total of 120 objective questions would be there in exam and time allotted would be 3 hours.

I am an indian national who lives and goes to school in the usa, can i write the aimpt as an nri? if i get selected through the aimpt, can i go to any college for free? even a private college?
INDIAN NATIONALS can write AIPMT. AIPMT covers only govt colleges at common fee basis.
Hi,
I have several questions regarding MBBS admissions and fees for a student, USA citizen holding OCI:
1. Can USA citizen holding OCI write th AIPMT? If so, and supposing she gets high enough rank in it, will she be admitted into MBBS in the merit category seats (not NRI quota seats) based on the merit? In such a case, what will be the fees, does she pay the fees same as other Indian students admitted on merit or will she be required to pay foreign citizen fee because of her USA citizenship?
2. What is the current range of fees for NRI quota seats for MBBS in private medical colleges? And what is the range of fees if she admitted in the merit category seats?
3. Assuming she meets minimum qualifications for NRI quota seats, is there a chance she will be denied admission even if willing to pay the fee for NRI quota seats? In other words, can we be sure we will get admission in NRI quota if we pay the quoted fees for those seats.
4. Can a student join BSc.(Bio) and after first-year or second year of that degree, attempt AIPMT again and get admitted to MBBS if she gets high enough rank then? Is there a lateral-entry to MBBS in those cases saving the student time or course work?
We need to know these, so we can make decisions based on accurate information. We sincerely appreciate any help and directions in this matter.
Thank you,
Ram
1) OCI/Foreign Nationals cannot appear for AIPMT/AIEEE exam. The exam has been limited to Indian Nationals only.
2) For NRI seats in private colleges fee varies from highest $150,000 for full course to about 50 lacs in lesser known colleges. Merit fee (not applicable in your case) is regulated by the states and is between 3.5-5 lacs per year.
3) You would need to talk to the college first on the availability of the seats and then pay fees. There are enough colleges to get admissions in NRI/OCI/FN seats.
4) No lateral entry allowed. In any case, OCI cannot appear in AIPMT.

I need info on availability of MBBS seats for NRIs in AIIMS, New Delhi and procedure to apply for the same. Thanks
For some good reasons, AIIMS doesn’t have any such NRI seats.
when application form of aipmt 2012-13 will be avaivable
This govt seems to be handicapped and does not take timely decisions resulting in sufferings to students. Now it took time to cancel NEET exam, so CBSE would have to work afresh for AIPMT. I guess, the application should be available in 1-2 weeks time.
