Dear Sir,
My son has a score of 2160 in SAT-II, he intends to pursue CSE from a reputed college in India, we have DTU, PEC and NIT, Warangal in mind. Does his SAT score is good enough to get him admission in these institute. Also let me have your views on Manipal Instiute of Technology and NIT, Delhi, how you rate these institutes.
Regards,
Anand
The SAT scores are good for NIT-W and PEC.
If any NRI is unable to qualify for DASA, then only consider MIT. NIT-D new institute, no own infra/campus- wait for 5-6 years before it matures to a very good college.
Dear Sir,
We are a family of OCI USC (Overseas Citizen of India and US Citizen) living in India since 2008. My daughter studied in India since 2008, and cleared her CBSE 10th board exam. This year she is writing CBSE 12th Board exam. She has registered for IIT-JEE but when she tried to register for AIEEE 2012 she got an error message 'not eligible for AIEEE 2012 on the basis of Foriegn Citizenship' since she chose Nationality as Foreign instead of Indian. Are OCI's not eligible for AIEEE 2012 ? She has not appeared for SAT. Pl clarify..
Thanks for your help in advance.
Jayanta
While PIOs/OCI can appear for IITJEE 2012 exam, however, the brochure for AIEEE clearly says Indian National only. Bit Strange.
Thanks ! However the question is whether an OCI should fill in the Nationality column 'Indian' or 'Foreign' in the AIEEE and other examination forms. In AIEEE registration form if one fills 'Foreign' one's registration is rejected. I send emails to AIEEE contacts as wells as Secretaries and Directors of the Diaspora Services of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to no response so far, while deadline dates for filling up these forms are fast approaching. It is a pretty worrisome situation..I also tried calling AIEEE contacts at the bunch of phone numbers they have..but nobody picks up call there..
It is really strange that IITJEE has allowed OCI to appear for the exam but AIEEE/AIPMT (both conducted by CBSE) doesn’t allow. However it is to be noted that, Indian govt has allowed such Indian origin persons to get admissions to NITs through DASA scheme.Based on my interaction with parents over a decade staying abroad, general consensus is that DASA route is the best bet for NITs and if the student has in himself/herself, go for IITJEE.
